Ways You Can Help
Veterans Road Playground
KIDS PAINT NIGHT
APRIL 14th, 6 - 8 PM
In 2015, The Dedham Youth Commission and Ripples of Hope formed a community coalition with families from the Veterans Road Housing Complex. The goal of this group was to encourage the children to have positive experiences and to empower the parents to be leaders in the community. This led to an action packed year that included block parties, activity nights, field trips, and workshops for families and children. Most recently, the efforts of this group have also included new signage and a new flag pool installed at Veterans Road, along with a complete make-over of the children’s clubhouse.
Current Playground Built in the 80s
In 2016, we hope to build on our success by building a new playground at Veterans Road. The current playground, which was built over 35 years ago, is outdated and deteriorated. To date, we have worked diligently to raise funds and currently have $42,000 to put forward on this project. We have also met with a developer and have plans to build in the Spring of 2016. However, additional funding and support is needed to make this playground a reality in 2016. Therefore, we kindly request your support for this playground, which will have a huge impact on the lives of hundreds of families. Please check out the "Fundraising" and "How to Help" tabs above for additional information on this project and specific ways to get involved and make a difference in Dedham!
Veterans Road Playground is community organization committed to bringing accessible, innovative play to all the children of Veterans Road Housing Complex and the surrounding neighborhoods of Dedham. Because our organization is formed exclusively by volunteers, 100 percent of all fundraising dollars go directly toward the playground project.
Vision of Future Playground - Accessible and Awesome for all children.
